Qualified baker

Karlheinz "Charly" Neumann was a trained baker. He joined FC Schalke 04 in 1950 at the age of 19. He did not work in his trained profession on the side, but as a caterer.

The final resting place

Charly Neumann died in 2008 at the age of 77. In the first match after Charly Neumann's death, the miners remembered their team manager: they all wore jerseys with the name "Charly". He has been a member of Schalke's honourary dressing room since 2009.
